TARI BARONG IN BATUBULAN

Barong was the character in mitologi Bali. He was the king from spirits as well as symbolised goodness. He was the enemy of the widow in mitologi Bali. Banas Pati Rajah was the spirit who accompanied a child in his life. Banas Pati Rajah was trusted as the spirit who motivated Barong. As the spirit of the patron, Barong was often put forward as a lion. The traditional dance in Bali that depicted the battle between Barong and the widow really famous and often was shown as the tourist attraction.
Barong the lion was one of the five Barong forms. In the Balinese island of each Balinese island part had the spirit of the patron for the land and the forest him was their respective. Every time Barong was from each region depicted as the different animal. There was the wild boar, the tiger, the snake or the dragon, and the lion. The Barong form as the lion really popular and came from Gianyar. Here was located Ubud, that was the famous tourist attraction. In Calonarong or the Balinese dance, Barong used his magic to overcome the widow.
